About Friends of Raytown Parks

Friends of Raytown Parks & Recreation Inc.

Friends of Raytown Parks & Recreation, Inc. was incorporated in 2007 as a non-profit Missouri corporation formed under Charter N00847871 and is not under the governance of the City of Raytown and Raytown Parks & Recreation, although organized to create a partnership with the Raytown Parks Board.

Our fiscal agent is the Truman Heartland Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization. Donations to our Friends of Raytown Parks fund are managed by the Foundation under the direction of our Board of Trustees.

Our Board of Trustees consists of nine elected Platinum Stakeholders from the Raytown Community who serve three-year terms and do not receive any monetary compensation for their service.

Our Accomplishments

Upcoming

Past

  • Joined the Raytown Area Chamber of Commerce in 2012.
  • Created a promotional video broadcast on the City of Raytown's cable Channel 7.
  • Launched a website and online Events Calendar in 2012 for the benefit of the Raytown community that includes FORPR and Raytown Parks activities, as well as those of Rice-Tremonti home, Raytown Arts Council, Raytown BMX, Raytown Tree Board and community events feed sponsored by the Raytown Chamber of Commerce.
  • Participated in the Minor Smith Park bridge ceremony in September 2011 that included the Raytown Parks Board, Raytown Chamber of Commerce, City of Raytown officials and community residents.
  • Formed a PAC that launched a city-wide campaign to garner sales tax renewal support in August 2010, thereby ensuring the financial security of Raytown Parks.
  • Met the minimum requirements of establishing a Friends of Raytown Parks fund with fiscal agent, Truman Heartland Community Foundation.
  • Fund and run the concession stand for the annual Movies in the Parks Summer program and other appropriate events.
